A Record Set! Plus some funny photos of signs!

We had 6 people come to church yesterday!!! That's the most that I've ever had come in one
week during my whole mission! It was really exciting. Kind of crazy because yesterday we were arranging rides for everyone because they didn't have a car. There was a husband and his wife and their daughter. The husband is really excited and seems like he wants to get baptized. The wife is also very interested. Her daughter from a previous marriage has some slight mental disability and is very sweet, and only lives with them sometimes. We are really excited about this family and we were able to call ward leaders and give them a heads up about who was coming to church and everyone did a very good job of introducing themselves and getting them involved. We have the best Gospel Principles teacher!!! His name is Brother James and he is 29 a convert and served a Chinese-speaking mission in CA. His wife is also a convert from Mongolia who also served a mission in her country. He is super good about involving people in class discussion and explaining things that investigators wouldn't have been introduced to yet, like terms or principles that might be new to them.

Guess what?!! We get to go to the Temple on Wednesday! I have been super excited about this for over a month now! We are having a temple conference, so we will get to see about half of the missionaries in the mission, half go Tuesday and the other half Wednesday. And we have a zone conference type thing, plus the temple. It will probably end up going till about 5pm. And guess what? I can do the Virtue experiences and project (reading the Book of Mormon) and get the ribbon or whatever for that, so I am. And 3 out of 4 of the experiences are about preparing to go to the temple. So it's been cool to refresh my memory and really prepare to go to the temple again.

This week a 21 year old girl with Downs syndrome passed away in our ward. Her family is related to several other families in the ward and they just moved in a few months ago. Her name was Brittany and they had a viewing at the church on Friday, which we got to go to. It brought back a lot of memories, and I know I don't know what they are going through, but yet I do. It was interesting to see how the family felt they had to comfort the rest of the ward.

On a side note to that, at the viewing, one of the girls who's 16 came up and told me that she had been putting mormon.org cards in the books and CD's at the library because she spends a lot of time there and thought it would be a good way to do missionary work. However, about 8-10 missionaries go there on p-day to email and another time in the week to research on mormon.org. So when she said that, I immediately was thinking that the library staff would probably not be very happy and would think it was us. So right as I got on the computer to email today the librarian came up to us and told us they had been finding cards. Luckily I was the one they came up to and was able to tell her that it was this girl in the congregation and not us. So for anyone else, probably not the best idea to stick tons of mormon.org cards in the library books.

So I am sending some pictures but they are random ones of signs up all over OKC. Well there is a little city "Warr Acres" that is part of OKC and they have these funny signs up all over so I decided to "collect" them by taking pictures of each one.

1. A hand of friendship

2. "A city set on a hill" President R. Reagan

3. A city with a heart in the heart of Oklahoma

4. Thank you for shopping in Historical US Route 66 America's Favorite Highway

5.Welcome to Warr Acres Almost Capital of Oklahoma

6. The Small City with a Big Heart

Hmmm, well there are a lot more of these signs so I guess I'll have to get some more of them this week.
