Hello Outside World!!!
Well, another transfer and another companion! I'm starting my 7th transfer and I've got my 6th companion. I've made a lot of good friends so far and I know I'll make many more. Sister Holt is from Harramin, UT. She came out at the same time as Sister Draper (the “Greenie” I just trained) so this is her 2nd transfer. We've had a great week so far.
This Saturday Becca got baptized! She lives outside our area, but she requested to be taught by Sister Missionaries. She had been taught by missionaries twice before, but this time she really read The Book of Mormon and received an answer that it was right. She's 21 and super nice. Sister Draper got to come down from Edmond, where she got transferred to and it was lots of fun. We are so happy that Becca took this step and is doing such amazing things.
On Tuesday we taught a very sweet couple who are the grandparents of a recent convert who's out on a mission--Elder Glazner. They are very sweet it's been hard for them to "lose" their grandson for two years while he is serving a mission. They were really close before and it's been hard for them to not be able to talk with him all the time. Sister Draper is an excellent missionary and she shared her experiences and bore her testimony. They don't want to learn more about this church, but they were very nice to talk to. We went to their house because their grandson requested that we give them a copy of The Book of Mormon. They accepted it and we're glad to understand a little more about what we do as missionaries.
President Taylor came to our church for Ward Conference and it's great to see what a push the stake is putting on missionary work. The Stake Presidency invited every active family to have someone taught in their home by the missionaries or to go out teaching with us this year. I think that is a great goal. I am so excited to be a missionary right now and I am grateful for the chance to be a part of people's lives here. I know the Lord's work will go on, but we just get to decide if we will be a part of it or not. I know that by choosing to be a part of the Lord's work I have had so many experiences that have taught me and have strengthened my testimony.
Love,
Sister Lila Jenson
